Afternoons are a glorious time at the Inn. The light is warm on the porches and the trees cast long shadows. Everything seems to slow down, and glow. If you wander the grounds during these magic hours, there’s a timeless quality about the place and you can imagine it as it might have been one hundred years ago. The work of innkeepers and conservation-minded citizens help to preserve our tract of fifty acres, a designated protected wetland ecosystem with a rare, open vista along the Battenkill River.
The farmstead, walking paths and river frontage afford special opportunities to connect with nature, refresh and recharge. Observe native flora and fauna; plants, flowers, birds, butterflies, and daydream the afternoon away… And as the sun goes down beyond our beautiful valley, grab a seat on the porch, a glass of wine, and watch the evening roll in.
