Hill Farm Inn’s Berry Christmas Cocktail
Spiced Cranberry Puree | Splash of Cran-Pomegranate Juice
Tito’s (or other craft) Vodka | Fresh Lime or Orange Twist for Garnish
Combine all ingredients, plus ice, in a cocktail shaker and mix. Fill chilled martini glass, and garnish. Voila!
For cranberry puree, enough for 12 cocktails:
2 cups fresh cranberries | 3/4 cup local honey | 1 cup orange juice | 1/2 cup Port | 3 cinnamon sticks (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon) | 8 cloves | 1/4 cup crystallized ginger, chopped | 1 tablespoon dried ginger | Peel of 1 lemon, 1 orange
Combine ingredients in a pot over medium heat. Cook until cranberries burst, about five minutes. Remove from heat and cover.
Allow mixture to steep for 20 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks and citrus peel and puree the cranberry mixture in a blender. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer. Refrigerate up to 1 week.
May your days be merry and bright!
